ForeFlight added a new aviator to the family today! Congratulations to Jason and Krista Miller, who gave birth to baby Evan at 22:32 zulu – 9 pounds, 12 oz, and 21 in (not manifold pressure). All is well, and as Jason said, “all the right parts attached!”.

If you pull up “Current and Forecast” weather for an airport or visit a weather station page, you will now see a high-resolution, 50nm-wide looping doppler radar image centered on the airport or weather station. The images look fantastic on the iPhone. Here is a screenshot:

ForeFlight received another round of new features tonight:
Departure, arrival, and approach plates!
Nearby airports: the airports page now shows airports within a 25 nm radius of the airport you’re viewing. We show the distance to the airport and the cardinal compass direction.
Nearby weather: the weather reports now show observations from aerodromes within a 50 [...]

Tonight we pushed a few updates out to production! They include:
Limit the number of recent airports, weather stations, and routes to reduce clutter on the home screen.
Distance finder will show you the initial magnetic heading from departure to destination point.
The home screen now displays plain language weather underneath each weather station in your recents [...]
